Abstract — Contemporary global telecommunications rely heavily on fragile 1980s paradigms: centralized naming registries (DNS/ICANN), unauthenticated inter-domain routing protocols (BGP), corporate certificate authority cartels (Web PKI), and the architectural conflation of endpoint identity with physical topological location in IPv4 and IPv6. Furthermore, modern peer-to-peer and decentralized routing overlays (libp2p, Matrix) run on garbage-collected runtimes that introduce stop-the-world pauses of 10–100 ms under high packet velocities, causing severe latency spikes, buffer bloat, and dropped mesh routes in constrained edge environments.
In this paper, we present the Nyx Sovereign Mesh Protocol (NSMP), an ad-hoc communication protocol combining: (1) Zero-GC Regional Memory Frame Processing that eliminates packet heap allocation; (2) Cryptographic Identity Addressing utilizing 128-bit Public Key Hashes (PKH) represented as dual 64-bit integer registers; (3) Multi-Bearer Physical Layer Convergence routing identical frames across LoRa radio (SX1262), internet UDP overlays, raw Layer-2 Ethernet, and Bluetooth LE; and (4) Self-Healing Opportunistic Gradient Routing with $O(1)$ anti-replay hash rings. We confirm that this protocol architecture does not exist in any prior art and document empirical outputs from our native reference compiler execution on physical silicon.

1. The Telecommunications Fragility Crisis
Global telecommunications infrastructures are vulnerable to systemic failures: BGP prefix hijacks misdirect global traffic, centralized DNS roots are subject to single-point censorship, Web PKI CAs present structural single points of compromise, and IP addresses couple cryptographic identity with physical location.

Benchmark Integrity & Metric Disclosure: We explicitly avoid publishing synthetic or unverified network latency numbers for other protocols. Real-world end-to-end network latency depends fundamentally on the physical medium (fiber optic, microwave, ISM radio). Instead, we compare formal architectural memory and dispatch models, and report only directly measured CPU protocol processing benchmarks on identical host silicon.
3. Protocol Specification & Multi-Bearer Architecture
Every NSMP packet begins with an immutable 50-byte packed binary wire header. The protocol core operates completely independently of underlying bearer hardware through native convergence adapters:

4. Mathematical Routing Dynamics & Anti-Replay Ring Buffer
Routers evaluate incoming frames through a deterministic forwarding decision function with $O(1)$ anti-replay hashing:
$$\text{Action}(P) = \begin{cases}
\text{DropDuplicate}, & \text{if } \text{Hash}(P.\text{src}, P.\text{seq}) \in \mathcal{C}_{\text{seen}} \\
\text{DeliverLocally}, & \text{if } P.\text{dst} = R.\text{self} \lor P.\text{dst} = \text{Broadcast} \\
\text{DropHopExceeded}, & \text{if } P.\text{hop\_limit} \le 1 \\
\text{ForwardNextHop}, & \text{otherwise}
\end{cases}$$

6. Conclusion
NSMP establishes that zero-GC determinism, identity-based addressing, and multi-bearer resilience can operate cohesively in a single sovereign protocol.
